Hotel Cameron High Inn
Brinchang Point, Cameron Highlands
Cameron High Inn Hotel is located in Brinchang Point, Cameron Highlands. This is a budget hotel with very good furnishing. When I first stepped in to have a look see, was rather impressed that they used floor panelling and the TV is the flat panel type. The room size is typical of shop lot hotel in Cameron Highlands but with the nice décor I'm sure you would enjoy it!
Cameron High Inn hotel is directly located behind the Oldies and Goodies Roasted Restaurant. I was surprised to find out the owners were the same when I enquired with the manager in charge. Well since the boss already set up the restaurant, may as well set a hotel too, yes? The manager was kind enough to let me view the rooms, after all any kind of exposure is always good for business!
Because the rooms have better furnishing, it cost an extra RM10 against their rivals located around here in Brinchang Point. When I was checking around a lady was scouting around for a room to stay for the night. She was trying to haggle RM10 off against another accommodation located opposite of this hotel, the Ria Cameron Hotel and Apartment. I know for some people, RM10 can be a difference and any amount of money pinching would be good.
But the value of money in Malaysia has drop due to rising inflation from bad management by the government and our salary has not been in keeping. However personally for me the RM10 extra for the night accommodation wouldn't be so big a deal for a nicer cosier room. After all, just go out and makan simple meal already use up the RM10 just like that and if you divide it with your spouse and children, it comes to probably and extra RM3 per person more or less.
Apart from the nice flat screen TV, Hotel Cameron High Inn also provides free WIFI access. It seems nowadays accommodation in Cameron Highlands is providing free wireless access to attract more tech savvy customers like you and me who surf the internet for information!
As for the room size, well it is small, the bathroom also small but you won't have any problem with it! They also have bigger family size room, and there was a Tatami styled family room too! They were cleaning this family room when I pop in so I didn't take any photos here. Anyway no point for photo reference because they are doing away with the Tatami bedroom as it was not so popular.
I think amongst the shop lot hotels located in Brinchang Point in this corner of Brinchang town, Cameron High Inn hotel would be the best of the lot in terms of furnishing and value. The better decorated one would be Kavy Hotel but you would to pay much higher, so for a budget accommodation in this part of the town, this would be it!
