Hotel De' La Ferns, Cameron Highlands

This Hotel De' La Ferns in Cameron Highlands was just recently open while we holidaying during Labour Day. It looks great as the exterior was keeping in tune with the Tudor architecture. This hotel accommodation is situated between Tanah Rata and the Gold Course in Cameron Highlands so you can't miss it! Very easy to find.

Hotel De' La Ferns lounge looks really cozy, eh? Could fall asleep here...

I believed the designers has given it much thought as there is ample parking space, and located next to Hotel De' La Ferns are some souvenir shops, nurseries and vegetable market. Just in case you haven't had enough of marketing for vegetable in Kea Farm and various other arcades and markets, you could just pop in next door for some more!

This Hotel De' La Ferns was so new even Kenny, my brother-in-law wanted to have a quick look at it too. So we drove there in our Toyota Wish and drop in for some checking.

The lobby lounge area though simple was really well decorated with nice polish marble and a few big English winged armchairs where you can sit for awhile while getting yourself checked in.

While choosing your room you have a choice of golf course view or countryside view. But basically for me, either view is just as superb. After all with all the greenery around it is definitely a soothing sight for sore eyes. They have six floors worth of rooms, even with that many rooms it could be quickly filled up during peak holiday season or if any promotion is going on.

The Hotel De' La Fern rooms look big and spacious. Sorry for the mess, couldn't find a well made room.

Walking around the corridor I took a quick sneak peak at one of the rooms and yes, it is quite spacious. It was a double kingsize bedroom. Since I didn't get a chance to converse with the reception / manager for further info so I'm not sure what category of room this falls under in their price list. It looked as though it could house four occupants given that kind bedding size. They really invested quite a fair bit for furnishings 'coz they use flat panel LCD display for their TVs!

Even their restaurant looked really nice though I've arrived rather in the late afternoon and coupled by the fact that they just opened, will have to wait and see what kind fare they serve up. Afternoon tea and scones with Devonshire cream perhaps?

I couldn't wait around to explore further as raindrops was beginning to fall and we had to make our move to our next location for our travel destination holiday.

Still for some idea of their published rates for their hotel rooms:

How about tea and scones in the Hotel De' La Ferns restaurant?

Superior Double = RM380
Superior Twin = RM380
Deluxe Triple = RM480
Deluxe Quad = RM580
Junior Suite = RM680
Family Suite = RM780

Pentsuite
Cameron Ferns = RM1800
Highlands Ferns = RM1800

And there is a 5% + 10% charge for sales tax and service charge; and if there is an excess occupant, they charge an additional RM50 nett per person.

Sounds very expensive, however IMHO, with so many competitive hotels in Cameron Highlands including the star rated ones like Equatorial Hotel, Strawberry Park Resort, YTL Cameron Highlands Resort, Lakehouse, etc coming out with packages, it won't be long they will be hard pressed to come out with some attractive holiday packages to attract holiday goers. They are still new, so only time will tell.

Like the place? Then contact them at:

Sure you can email them, but better to use telephone for faster response and you can check up more details from conversing with them. Hey, ask them for any promo rates, 'coz the published ones are just way too unattractive!

Anyway, time for me to go. Family waiting to continue with their cuti-cuti tourism Malaysia holiday. Besides, the rain droplets were getting bigger and my EOS Canon DSLR was getting wet!

Cheers!
Jan.
