Bukit Larut (Maxwell Hill) is the smallest highland in Malaysia. And if you are thinking of having a vacation getaway that is completely peaceful, this could well be the place to stay over. There are several government rest house accommodation and one commercial accommodation available for you to stay over if you so wish to give it a try.
Cendana Hut
Since I have not stay in any, so I have no idea about their condition. Though if my thinking is like anybody, I would probably go for the commercial accommodation – Cendana Hut – managed by Kamatravel & Tours Sdn Bhd. This company also have another hotel accommodation located near the Lake Gardens. You might pass by this little resort called Kamalodge on the way to the Bukit Larut office.

All bungalows can accommodate a max of 10 persons. The two *VVIP and *VIP rooms are rented out on written approval only.
As for the commercial accommodation, Cendana Hut, it is at a height of 1,128 meters above sea level. Their rates are:

According to the Kamatravel Brochure, Cendana Hut rooms has water heater facilities and they have a Cendana Cafe for you to order your meals. Cendana Hut is also where the Tulips are grown. Whenever it is in season, throngs of tourist would jam pack the area. If you want to stay around this time, book your accommodations in advance as I am sure the rooms would surely be fully booked.
Cendana Hut also has nice balcony where you can have your meal with a good panorama view of Taiping! The place is not very big, so it all just about rest and relaxation.
If you are really bored out while staying in Maxwell Hill, you could try some of these activities: jungle trekking and bird watching. Definitely you have to do a lot of healthy walking around here!
