Twin Pines is a budget guesthouse accommodation located in Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands. Like the many budget hotels and accommodation located in Tanah Rata, Twin Pines boast a friendly atmosphere and excellent friendly staff who could provide advice on the many question asked by guests.
Twin Pines location is not too bad, although they are not located on the main road of Tanah Rata; they are within walking distance to the main street with easy access to the town’s many amenities.
There is also a nice common communal meeting area where you can mingle around with other guests and strike up a lively conversation. And when nightfall comes, there is a nice fire-pit where a bonfire is set just like going for a camp, but of course this is within the compound area of Twin Pines guesthouse accommodation.
As most budget hotel accommodation goes, this is cheap. So don’t expect any frill and thrills about staying in budget hotels. In most cased, all you want is a nice clean place to stay, and of course if you want an attached bathroom with hot shower you will have to pay extra, but still cheaper than other budget hotels that come with attached bathroom.
I check around some comments, and there was mixed reactions. Well, actually almost all the hotels in Cameron Highlands have mixed reviews. Some like this, some don’t like that, ah, no way to please everybody. But please, if you pay for budget, then expect only simple lodging. Want all the bells and whistle, pay through your nose and stay at star rated hotels in Cameron Highlands then!

They consider themselves as the friendliest guesthouse in Cameron Highlands. Free transport to check their accommodation upon arrival. IE they can pick you up from the bus station but if you don’t like the place you can go elsewhere. Actually they are very near to the bus station!
Their room rates range from as low as RM7 for dormitory style lodging to RM70 for family rooms.
Types of accommodation available includes: dormitory, double rooms with shared showers, Triple rooms with shared shower, double rooms with attached bath, attic room for single, double or triple and finally they have the family rooms for 3+1 persons. Don’t know why they put 3+1, you will have to inquire with them about each room if you plan to stay with them. Heard the attic room is rather cramp, so look see first before you decide.
Since for such budget accommodation, they are a favourite of the many backpackers who are looking for backpacker lodging accommodation. Even if you are not a backpacker but who wish to make your dough stretch the mile, this is one of the several budget accommodations in Cameron Highlands that you could consider.

After coming back from your exploration about Cameron Highlands, you could relax around the spacious lounge area with Astro TV and perhaps watch your favourite sports channel, provided of course somebody else hasn’t hog it with another channel of course.
Then after that head off for some grub if you are feeling hungry at their in house restaurant otherwise walk out to Tanah Rata town where there are plenty of choices of restaurant with food ranging from the ever popular steamboat to Indian curries and Western styled cafes.
And finally return to Twin Pines and enjoy the bonfire during the night and chit-chat with friends or make new friends to converse with. Too tired after the day’s activities? Then time to knock off for the night!
